Sorry to bring up a old thread but, i am in the market for a new battery and there is a lot of good information in this thread. Should be a sticky if not already..

Anyways, i was wondering now that the thread is 3 or so years old how the Everstarts are holding up?? I have been doing a lot of research on batteries and it appears that the Everstart Maxx (27N) is the same battery as Autozone's Duralast Gold. Both are made by Johnson Controls, 800cca, 1000ca the only real difference is that the Duralast is $120 bucks and the Everstart Maxx is $85 bucks!

I'd say go with whatever you can afford. If it dies too early, well, it was just a bad call. Then get another brand. I personally LOVE my Interstates.

I've had a Diehard Gold group 27 in my Ram since 2009.
It's 750 CCA, no problems with it at all.

I've NEVER had a problem with any Autozone batteries. Batteries and Alternators are two things I ALWAYS make sure I know where the receipts are in the event of a premature failure.

Well i ended up shooting in the dark and trying the Everstart Maxx since it said right on the label "made by Johnson Controls" and from what i gather they are also who makes the Duralast Gold. The failed battery was a Advance Silver battery that was in the truck from when i bought it in 1/2011. It was in its 5th year of service so i am guessing that is pretty good.
