No, it will not hurt anything to go over the stock amp rating.

http://www.batteryfaq.org/

Check out that link to figure out which brands are actually made by what companies. It can get rather confusing, but according to that list and what I've researched, Walmart's "higher end" batteries are actually made by a good company.

Unless varying by location, they sell Ever Start, which is a good brand unless you have a lot of audio equipment.

Stock CCA is 650, and I run 1000CCA.

my battery has like 850 CCA iirc (the 1000 cca battery at Rural King wouldn't fit in my battery tray and cost a lot more)

Yea, you'll do fine with them. You only have the one amp, don't you?

I know we run the same battery I have in our 2004 and it does great. I on the other hand, replace mine ever 60 days because I normally blow a cell in them by that time. There is nothing wrong with the charging system, but I like to have tunes when I'm working on the truck or working around it.

my oem battery was only 600 cca and the everstart maxx is 875 cca.

laramie, every 60 days? you're lucky you haven't been blacklisted for all the returns yet.
have you thought of getting one of those capacitor deals that looks like the plutonium canister from back to the future? are they even worth the trouble?

Walmart guide had 2 different ones for my model that were the same price,$65 1 month ago.I got the Everstart MAXX 27-N 900ca 750cca.I glanced at them Friday while purchasing oil,and the MAXX 27-N was $75.I said outloud,"Damn, went up $10" They do have a $10 rebate if you return your old one.

Not really worth it on my build. Those are for major builds like 3000+ watts. Their purpose is to keep a constant volt rate to the amps instead of varying like battery alone gives you. The variation robs you of some power, and that's about it. On large builds, you need all the help you can get. Since I only have a total of 2300 Watts spread out amongst three amps, I don't see it being worth my time. If I were competing, I'd have one in the works.

I used to work for Walmart, and they really don't care as long as the battery tests dead. It's Ever Start's issue then. Everyone at the store I take it to knows me, so if ES ever did have a problem with me bringing it in, the management would just ignore it.
