Default Whats the best route to take?

I recently traded my mustang for a 96 5.9 ram with a 4" 6" drop. This thing is no where close to how fast my mustang was and im not sure the route to go highperformance wise. Where would the best place be for a starting point? I was told dodges are prone to trans failure. What would be a good tranny to bolt up to built motor? It has a CAI and exhaust done so far. thanks everyone!

Shoulda kept the stang! Unless you put a stroker and a super charger on the Ram it won't touch the Mustang. You can do a search on here to get suggestions on getting better performance and others will chime in on what you can do. But it's gonna cost you to even get close on the butt dyno.

I know for sure that i want to build a motor just not sure what kind. Im content with driving it for now. Im glad i dumped the mustang tho. It was fast but it was falling apart body wise! If you could build a set up for this what would you do?

Also, you are right about the transmission, so if you put any kind of real HP under the hood, plan on upgrading the rest of the drive train to handle it. Lots of cash it's going to take.

+1. He is also very knowledgeable and helpful, although he doesn't seem to make it onto the forums as often as he used to.
