new...need some help!

Default new...need some help!

new to this site, i got a problem with my 99 1500 and i'm hoping someone can help me out. My illumination lights on my cluster for all my guages went out last night. checked all the fuses none were blown so now i have my dash tore apart the whole cluster out and all the bulbs for the illumination look fine. Where do i look now? anyone had the same problem? any help is appreciated, thanks.

Could be a relay or yr ground has gone to crap. You did turn up the back light on the dash correct?

ya i did i thought thats what it was at first to until the next click i turned up turned the dome light on. Wheres the relay that controls that?

Really mine will turn on and off all of the lights as well as the dash lights. Sorry I can't help you will the location of the relay. You also might not be getting any power to the back lights.

did you check the fuse in the end of the dash.
also check for 12 volts at that fuse
next test is at the light switch, where the dash dimmer is. the dimmer may be bad.

On the side of the dash facing the driver's door is a panel. Remove it and you will see a small set of fuses (and possibly relays) for a few various things.

well ya i checked the fuse panel, i thought you guys were maybe talkin bout some seperate fuse i didn't know about. i'm stuck on this one i'm about ready to wire in a toggle switch with a seperate light so i can see my guages while driving at night lol
