dodge15004x45.9, i will be here for quite awhile.

The sad thing about modding a vehicle is once you do something like what you have already, a stock vehicle will have a higher value.

I watched a 2007 Ram go for 7500 the other day at auction, and the only thing that had been done to it was an engine swap. It came with the 4.7, and the previous
owner swapped to a 5.7
I almost chit my self right on the spot.
I guess people have their mind set that a truck that has been modded has been driven hard. Some times that mode of thought comes true, but there are many cases where its wrong.

I don't know that I would want to jump into a fourth gen ram right now. There are some minute issues going on with them right now, but I don't care what you have or what brand you prefer, all brands have issues with their vehicles on the first year they debut a new style.
The 94's had problems
The 03's had issues
The 09's have issues.
I think that if Chrysler can hold together long enough to roll out the 2010 rams, I think they will be better built.

Was just talking to a friend of mine who is deals with a lot of cars. The problem witha lifted and highly modified truck is there is a limited market of people who want to buy them. More likely to sell if it was closer stock. Doesnt matter how much money you threw into upgrades.

The question is do you need a newer a truck or is just a want? With all the money you put into you current truck you could have gotten something a lot newer for the same price. If you have money to burn why not just buy a 2008 or 2009?

You have to decide what will make you happiest in the end. You've already got $14,000 into this truck (plus whatever interest you paid over the term of the loan) and you own it outright! If you buy a newer truck, that's another loan payment with interest, on a stock truck, which will cost a lot more than what you would need to make the truck you already own an awesome machine!

As someone questioned before, are you wanting another truck to get a larger cab? If that's the case, it adds more clout to wanting a newer truck. You've already got the 4wd, so if you thinking about this because you just want a Hemi engine, or leather seats, or any other goodies, you can do all of that and more for the truck you already own, and ultimately for less money!

If you buy a newer truck, you take a large hit on the one you have now - probably around half of what you have in it, plus will be paying interest on the many thousands of dollars you got the new loan for, and after that expensive loan is paid off, you have a newer stock truck that you'll be spending even more money on trying to make it "just right". I will be driving my truck until I can't find fuel for it any more, then I'll think about getting something else. Until then, I'll be spending my hard earned money on "goodies" for it and not payments with interest for a different stock one. As I mentioned earlier, you have to do what makes you the happiest in the end.

I agree with what he is saying. iv got my rides paid off now and i dont have to worry about a note for them and its great. Again it comes down to want or need really. If it was me i would stick with what you have.

these days a 2000 with 100k on it is only worth about 3000$ blue book, and with the condition of yours you could probably get 5000$. the best thing to do would be to get a new one and turn the existing one into a mud truck, it just needs lift/tires/lockers to get it mud worthy.
