1999 dodge ram gearing ratio
http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...7&autoview=sku so this is the intake correct? im not understanding why getting a new intake would solve the problem onless it gets rid of the Plenum pan because it would still be a steel + aluminum so correct me if im wrong, and if thats not the intake you guys are even talking about
That's the wrong manifold in your link. That one is for a carb motor. And you don't need to do the kegger mod if replace the intake, because the stock intake is the keg. Hence, the kegger mod.
Okay I have read the whole thread. I am running the Hughes Airgap intake and it is awesome. Gas mileage is a joke I see no difference in mpg's, at least not enough to talk about. As for performance, I used to have a hard time accelerating up to speed on the interstate and now it is no problem at all. Here is how I look at it. I added a CAI, well through the old intake the air gets hot before it gets down to the engine. With the new Intake the cold air gets further in and quicker which means more power. Also I never have to worry about the Plenum again. The intake has an awesome sound to it as well. I am very pleased with it and if you are going to save for it then do it. Also they re-direct the fuel injectors to point straight at the top of the cylinders to get a better burn ratio. Hughes really did there homework and this intake is really worth it. If you have any questions let me know.
You nailed it, there is no plate, bolts gasket or any of that cr*p in there it is a solid piece.
alright that sounds nice and i looked it up on the Hughes Engine site and it looks really nice and worth the money so idk we will have to see what i can come up with, and what else would be a good thing to do while i have half the engine out? like the 180 degree thermostat maybe?
