Default 14x3

ok, i know i'm about to get at least 5 people tell me to use the search feature on this one lol. but i did, and couldn't find a strict answer to my question without looking through about 234908098 posts. regardless, i'm looking into putting a 14x3 in and want to know if theres someplace that sells it as a kit for our rams or do we have to do it ourselves? i would think by now someone has to have made a kit. the only reason i'm asking is because i really dont have time, nor the tools right now to be bending threaded rod and cutting anything. if someone could help me and point me in the right direction, i would appreciate it. thanks!

All you have to do manually, is bend and cut the rod. A pair of pliers, vise grips and hacksaw will do it. All of 15 minutes.

Not that I know of. But considering bending the threaded rod takes about 5 mintues (I did mine with my hand and a pair of vice grips) It doesn't sound like you'd have time to get the stock box off anyway. That's really the only thing you have to do yourself.

A hacksaw and a pair of vice grips ought to run you about $15
A breather is about $8

Any round aircleaner you buy should have everything else already, so it is essentially a kit.

Only extra thing you may need depending on which 14x3 you buy, is a spacer kit. Then the only thing different from the DIY is the length of the s bolt. A little trail and error and another 5 minutes.

ok, how much of a drop can the base be before it starts hitting stuff? can i just get a flat base or will that make it too high and hit the hood?

It won't hit the hood, if it's too tall it won't fit under the cowl.

I just the Dodge Performance Air cleaner and it was a perfect fit.

scratch that, i took a trip to the store and found a few different brands at advance auto parts. i think im gonna go with the holley one. also another question. i found these crankcase breathers that are just the filter ones with a crome top. then i saw these other ones that are like completely crome all around(you know kinda like a oil air filter). which do you think will be better? they both have 1-1/4" id push in type so either one will fit. i think i'll like the looks of the completely chrome one.

I got the edlebrock breather cap.. and 14x3 air hat from the zone.... mine all thread was pre-bend when I got my 52mm TB from the Fastman.. (Dan's a great guy btw).. anyways.. total cost was like $45.00... I had to get the spacer kick because mine air hat was a drop style... I'll be getting a K&N 14x3 round filter soon... btw.. does anyone need a K&N drop in filter for the stock air box?
