Default V10 Question

I hope everyone is doing well. After I discovered that my rear end was going on my 97 2500, I decided to purchase a 2001 quad cab 2500 4x4 with a V10.

The engine (V10) is running rough (like its not getting spark to a couple cylinders).

I plan on doing the typical plugs and wires routine, but was wondering if the V10 had a history of running rough and if there was a common correction to the problem other then the usual plug and wire replacement routine.

Thank you in advance for you help...yet again..What a great group of people!!

I did the plugs, wire etc.. but now I still have a little shake at idle, but only when in drive. I'm still trying to figure that one out. Plus the thing is only getting about 8.6 mpg average....is that normal?

That mileage seems normal. I'm having issues with mine right now, I seem to be getting less than 5 MPG city. I'll use a quarter tank in like 20 minutes of driving, and it's starting to frustrate me.

I get a solid 9-11 with a mix of highway/city driving. Make sure you don't have any crossfire issues. They were fixed by the factory by 2000, but that doesn't mean some knucklehead that worked on it later didn't mess it up.
