Just realized how much of a difference my Superchip made...
I know I won't see it all at the wheels. Bought it to cure the death flash and get my speedo right, any performance increase is pure bonus.
From what I've read in every review you see a noticeable difference. I'll take it since I'll only have $250 in my tuner.

Yea, I have the 3815 model. I beg to differ on the difference in power though. It's definently noticable. I don't know how much power I witnessed, but it sure as hell felt more than 8 horses IMO. I mean, it rids of the "death flash", mods your fuel curves and such, and other things. Just fixing the "death flash" would feel like 8 horses to me. Then add the power potential the tuner makes, which has to add somewhat more of a difference. I'm curious to know how well the SCT tuner performs...
The SCT XCalibrator 2 (the SCT tuner for our trucks) will blow the Superchips Flashpaq out of the water with its custom tunes designed specifically for your truck.
Of course, it had better blow the 3815 out of the water for $600 compared to the 3815/3865 at $350 or less.
I didn't get it myself and went with the Superchips instead for a couple different reasons:
1. I don't have any reliable local SCT tuner guys in my area to make the tunes for me.
2. The cost.
And I thought that the Flashpaq would be pretty much bullet proof tuning since it was tested before it made its way to the tuner. Well, I was proven wrong on that, as I can't use the darned thing right now due to a bad tune for 5.2L/5.9L Magnum V8s. Again, do not update your tuner from the PC when you get it. The "older" tune databases work great, the new ones are being fixed.
Of course, it had better blow the 3815 out of the water for $600 compared to the 3815/3865 at $350 or less.

If you want more power, you are gonna have to pay for it. Ive got an intake, Fastman tb, exhaust and the hypertech, and i would be suprised if i even gained 15 hp.

Grew up in a Ford family, first truck was a 75 F150 with a 429 cobra jet. Thing was just stupid power, and I loved it. Want to do something along those lines with the Ram down the line, but might take a few years. Hard to justify the expense of a 408 project when it's so low mileage.
Also, when I posted the 'published numbers', I know that most of the time those numbers are b.s. I actually lol'd when looking at the hughes intake and they talked about 6 mpg increase. I don't have an ultimate goal of hp/tq...I just want it to bring a smile to my face everytime when I kick it down.

Can't think of his name off the top of my head, but there's a fella that floats around here in a 3rd gen with a 5.9 that got the hughes intake. Said he gained like 1mpg. So I guess the 6mpg probably ain't gonna happen.
