Might be nice if you added what year your truck is(all info about it actually) to your sig. They are NOT ALL the same. Some years require removal of the Gov body to remove the sensor.

I just did mine over the weekend. Use the Borg Warner parts. Noticable difference. THe parts seem beefed up over the Mopar design

I'm a new member here thanks for having me, I have a 99 and 2001 Ram 1500's.

With that out of the way, I need to replace my GPS and solenoid, I called the trans shop I have used for 35 yrs and asked them to sell me the parts, he said just call Chrysler, they do not install aftermarket sensors or solenoids because of the failures they have had over the years. I know this tech personally and I don't think he is BSing me.

Is there a vendor that you guys are buying these parts from that you are confident in there parts reliability?

thanks.
Jeff

I think him telling you a dealer won't install aftermarket parts because of quality concerns is BS...

You can get the BorgWarner Governor Solenoid and Pressure Sensor on eBay for about $100.

Maybe you misunderstood me, they are an independent trans shop, the tech said they no longer install aftermarket solenoids and sensors because of past failures, they will only install OEM parts. I'm guessing they just pass the extra cost onto the customer and it cuts down on their return warranty work.

When I go to fleabay what is the best term to use in the search engine? these are for my 99 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.9, 4x4

Thanks for the quick reply by the way.
