Default Hughes Airgap Intake Manifold MGP

Well I just did my first official Highway mpg run, about 20 miles. I averaged 18.1 mpg at an average speed of 70mph. I cannot believe that the fuel mileage increase was so much. I was only getting 14-15 before. As for around town I have only seen a .5 mpg gain. Mainly because I love the way it sounds and it is hard to keep my foot out of it. I need to try one complete tank of gas and keep my foot out of it and see what I can get. Anyway I'll take the 3-4 mpg gain on the higway any day.

Wow... I do believe we have a winner. One of these things coupled with a ramair box might actually put a 5.9 into the 20mpg range.

Deffinetly deffinetly getting one...

I would do this mod again, again, agian and again. No I do not loose any low end torque. It definetly has a noticeably increase in power. As I have stated before it is like having another gear once it hit's 2500 rpm's. The truck does not shift as much either and I think that is the biggest reason for the mpg gain. As for driveability It is a daily driver and I mean like 100 plus miles a day and I have absoultely no problems with the drivability of the manifold. Hughes really did there homework and made a very good piece. Remember that this piece was made specifically for this engine therefore everything has been addressed. Again I would do this mod again. I am really happy with this mod, to me it was worht every cent.

I'm thinking reeeaaallllll hard about getting this intake. How about an update, with 2 more months gone by? Driveability, mileage, whatever you have noticed. It sounds geat, but 600 bucks is an awful lot of money.
Thanks, Gas.
