Default an idea

I have a stock height truck, and with my rims clear 33's no problem. I was thinking about going up to 35's, but don't want to spend a bunch of money on a lift kit. Like, if I could lift the front 3-4", and just use AALs on the rear for 1-2".

Then it occured to me, that those with the Off Road package might lift their trucks, and would basically be replacing the stock 2" lift, and have no need for it. So, did anyone lift their Off Road, and want to get rid of the stock lift that was on it? Would this idea even work?

Just checked, the package was only on the 1500. Wouldn't work for me, but maybe someone with a 1500...

Leveling kit perhaps. Should give you the extra couple of inches to clear the 35's.

Ya, I was thinking a leveling kit might do it. I would rather raise the front 3" or more to be sure, and an inch or 2 in the rear.

I was going to say, I have the springs and rear blocks from a 1500 Off Road edition I am selling, but like you stated, won't work for a 2500.

Best bet will be a small lift kit.

Your best bet would be a 3" coil spacer in the front and some add-a-leafs in the rear. Any more lift than that and you will have to buy more stuff (like control arms and steering parts). Regardless, you will need new shocks, so you will be looking at a minimum of $300 or so (for new shocks, coil spacers, and add-a-leafs).

You could also do a body lift. They are cheep.

Honestly though, I think you could get away with a two inch coil spacer. Look up helms truck, I think he has a 3/4 ton with a coil spacer and 35's.

2" is the biggest coil spacer I've seen, but I haven't looked online. I wanted to stay away from body lifts, I think they're okay for a jeep, or an explorer, but not a full size truck (just my opinion).

My truck has had a body lift on it since 97 when the truck was new. A buddy of mine bought the truck new and didi the lift and such on it, then sold it to another friend who I bought it off of. There is absolutely no sign of damage due to the lift.

No, it's not a damage thing, it's just kind of a preference.

I searched, but only found 2" spacers

Gotcha. Your truck is coil sprung too right? If so I dont see why the spacers for a 1500 wouldn't work.

Because he's got a 2500 with a diesel engine in it. It weighs alot more than a V8 does.
