New here, About to buy a 2000 dodge ram..Need advice
Yea, I need sleep, but I don't think it needs me....
Yes I can be quick with that edit button sometimes.
I dunno I am partial to the V8's, and if the seller of that ram is admitting to a bad tranny, you can talk him lower to cover the cost of a rebuild.

Im partial to v8's too, but i didnt find any dakota's with the a v8. Sucks, but this truck is nice. And even if i did find one with the v8 i dont think it would be as nice as this one. And with this milage.
specially after I drove 500 miles today, and averaged 17.2mpg the whole way.
Still looking around, Found a 97 Dodge Ram 4x4 Short bed regular cab with the 318. Nothing wrong with it at all. Except it has 220,000 miles on it. For around $1500. What do you guys think? 4X4 still works great!
Depends on what your finances are. If that $1500 will leave you little for repairs then you need to rethink buying a 4X4 with that many miles on it. Any truck is going to need at least $500 put into it immediately just to make sure all the fluids and general maintenance are done right and there's always some little doodads new vehicle owners want to do when they first get their purchase home. If you have some reserves, then sounds like a good start. Get it checked out, though.

It's not that they're pieces of crap, it's that they just don't stay together. Mine went at 38k miles. Most go out sometime before 100k. Rare is the RAM with more than 125k and the original tranny. If this is a standard cab, 2X4 with few options, $3k might be a little high for that much mileage.
lol me too , i was at the gym today and a guy is like" is that you truck", im like yeah, he like thats is freaking nice , he said his buddy just bought a hemi and now he wants to buy a dodge now lol that put a smile on my face , i was like yeah you would love it
