Yea, I need sleep, but I don't think it needs me.... Yes I can be quick with that edit button sometimes.
I dunno I am partial to the V8's, and if the seller of that ram is admitting to a bad tranny, you can talk him lower to cover the cost of a rebuild.

I know what you mean. I havent had any sleep. This whole getting a car thing is draining me. Ive only got 8 hrs of sleep in the past 3 or 4 days but ive been excited about getting a truck. I think with that dakota sitting outside i will be able to sleep like a baby knowing i got a nice truck.

Im partial to v8's too, but i didnt find any dakota's with the a v8. Sucks, but this truck is nice. And even if i did find one with the v8 i dont think it would be as nice as this one. And with this milage.

I looked at and drove a couple of Dakotas while I was considering my RAM. Just felt too small and cramped to me. Too much like an import truck. Glad I went with my V10 gas guzzler.

I know what ya mean there. Have a buddy that has a 2000(?) Ram 3500 with the 8.0, 5 speed. That damn thing will flat move! He wanted me to buy it, but it gets a whopping 8 mpg unloaded..... Not something I can afford specially after I drove 500 miles today, and averaged 17.2mpg the whole way.

Still looking around, Found a 97 Dodge Ram 4x4 Short bed regular cab with the 318. Nothing wrong with it at all. Except it has 220,000 miles on it. For around $1500. What do you guys think? 4X4 still works great!

Depends on what your finances are. If that $1500 will leave you little for repairs then you need to rethink buying a 4X4 with that many miles on it. Any truck is going to need at least $500 put into it immediately just to make sure all the fluids and general maintenance are done right and there's always some little doodads new vehicle owners want to do when they first get their purchase home. If you have some reserves, then sounds like a good start. Get it checked out, though.

I have that rare one. Odom hitting 135K with original tranny. However, I recently had to rebuild the transfer case. Like all have said have it checked out. It may not leak or smell now, but it could happen as soon as the $$$ exchanges hands.
