and fords do rule.....sorry guys...
thanks my man.....although we are Dodge guys right now, he has an open unbiased view as do I!

Also you may not need bigger gears if you don't vary too far off from the stock size...like 33"-35" is not bad but 33"-37"+ you may need some adjusting....also if your keeping it on the street and doing it for looks you should be alright....the weight shouldn't be too much of an issue either!
Just keep in mind going bigger will slow the truck down a bit if that's something you're not too worried about!
Like I said keep it on the stret and it shoud be ok!
Do what you want it's your truck wether it be a 4x2 4x4 6x6 100 x 100 do what makes you happy!

I didn't want to say it, but when you lose a sister to a Ford-built death trap like I have, you'll lose that unbiased opinion pretty quick. The infamous Bronco II took my sister in one of their rollovers that Ford still insists is not the fault of their design, but paid my parents over $300k to shut them up. So please, take your Ford love somewhere else.

Sorry to hear in any case for your loss! There is absolutely no argument that Ford did have a period there with Bronco (which was before I started driving) and the mid/late 90's early 2000's Explorer and Sport rolling....It has since been a major issue they don't take lightly b/c you can't put a price on human life! The reality is no matter what car you are in they are dangerous machines that are capable of the worst!
BTW I do understand what you mean by having a biased view, like if a tire blew you would probably never buy that tire again!

Amen!!! Sorry to hear that by the way. I grew up in the Colorado mountains when i was a kid, with a 68 ford bronco. But it had a roll cage. We rolled over 700 feet down the mountain. And it was smashed to ****. thank god we were thrown out of it!

Was this post about lifting a 2wd truck ? ...I've never understood the need either, but won't try to debate it. I've seen some pretty sharp lifted 2 bys that caused me to do a double take. But I'm not into extremes in either up or down mode. Too much jury rigged stuff. I've never been a fan of the "hot wheels" look either. But my opinion doesn't mean jack, and its a free enough country. Mod your ride as you please but in a safe manner.

Trouble is, people post on here with high expectations that everyone will love what they've done, when that isn't gonna be the case. I guess if you don't want critisim, keep the pics in your gallery. The only person you really have to impress is yourself.

Ditto with other makes. I don't make a habit of posting my truck over in ford forums, reference or otherwise, and although my brother has done a tremendous job on my dads '68 mustang he bought new, the stigma when I drove it with the dubious honor of having the SLOWEST car in my high school has stuck with me and the blue oval brand since. And its not that I haven't issues with Ma Mopar over the years...but I degress.
Point is...as dad would say, if you can't handle a little heat, stay out of the weld booth.

Give me a break. My sister was killed in 1990. The Bronco II was already infamous for rollover deaths, but that didn't stop them from putting that exact same chassis underneath the Explorer, which then continued the rollover streak. Ford had a policy of paying off families of those injured/killed in rollovers in exchange for their silence. This was cheaper than recalling or redesigning the vehicle. Ford is an evil company. This is only one example of their corporate disregard for safety. I'm not going to debate this with you. This is a Dodge forum.

I'm not trying to argue with you....all this started from a pic that was for reference for the person who started this thread, So if you didn't like the pic....too bad, I didn't put it there to get your opinion or 2 cents worth! It was simply a normal truck then lifted truck, it wasn't me saying "oh look I have a ford i'm gonna post it on the dodge forum....NO" everyone is entilted to their own opinions and I happen to like Dodge and Ford, ****vy, i mean Chevy, not so much, so if you don't like them you're entilted to that view!

Fact is all car comapnies have their share of infamous bad cars, like the fireballs that erupted in accidents due to firewall issues, or how Chrysler had a streak of very sub-par GOVT crash ratings, or GM rollovers too... Fact is they all had them, it's the nature of design and engineering!

Dude, just leave it alone already. If you're clueless enough to not realize posting Ford pics in a Dodge forum might cause a backlash, then there's no reasoning with you. If that's your Dodge in your sig, why are you even in the 2nd Gen forum anyway? You don't have to get the last word in. Just let it go.

i have a 99 dodge extended cab with the 318 as well and i put on a 5.5" fabtech lift with 35's. id say lift it cuz i just graduated high school and it was awsome havin one of the tallest trucks and people notice that alot. who cares if its 2wd girls wont know the difference lmao it will cost alot of money. i paid almost 4000 for my lift and tires. but putting all that on my truck made it so so so slow, im one of the slowest trucks around so it will cost me even more to put on new gears and all that. it also worsins the mpg's i get about 8.5 in town and 13 on the highway if im not driving in the wind. I think its worth it to spend the money on it and do all that and hell everyone in my town knows of my truck or of me and the truck now and i live in a town of like 25-30000 so if ya got the money i say do it and go big ya only live once
