Page 177-180 of what? I'm not going to argue with a 16 year old. The reality is that there are federal laws covering the emissions, exhaust and noise systems that prohibit tampering. Period, end of story. The paragraph you cited is under the heading of "warranty and maintenance" and has nothing to do with tampering. It refers to compliance, nothing more.

The "noise control systems" referred to are primarily on diesel trucks, of which many 3500s are. As I stated earlier, there are other systems on all trucks that have noise considerations designed into them per EPA regulations and the FMVS. The intake and the exhaust, to name two. Tampering with them by removing them or modifying them with non-compliant replacements is against federal law. I will put my 30+ years as an avionics installer, motorcycle shop owner and magazine technical writer up against your 16 years on this planet any day.![Smile](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

And this only talks about local laws, not the federal laws. You're going to have a rough time in life if you never learn when and how to admit that you're wrong.

Those are local laws for you not me You live in CA laws are more Strict there all I was saying is in WV you do not have noise control on trucks under 10,000 Ibs Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. Because if so every truck with exhaust would have broke the law hear we make out own systems and run no cats and no mufflers. So there for none of the systems are approved

If it is a federal law why have you not posted a link to a site that says that. OH that is because it does not exist.
