does a 02-08 ram rear bumper fit on a 98 with little or no modification? I found a good deal on an 02 rear bumper. thanks

It will fit, just with some fabrication. I have seen it done before. But I would do it regardless because that would be different and way cool.

^ Then you are really going to be looking at some serious fab work. It can be done mind you. The rear bumper on mine was made for a stepside chevy, took us about 2 days to figure out how to mount it up on mine.

I never realized there was that much difference in appearance from 2nd to 3rd gen. I'll have to keep an eye out, bumper has been dinged since I bought it.

If you're gonna replace your back bumper with ANYTHING then this is what you want.

That was just a chrome shell when I got it, but we welded up 1/4" steel tubing behind it as a frame for it. Have been rear ended 5 times since I have put that thing on and there are a few scratches and nothing more.
