No Spark
I have only had this truck a couple of weeks and have run into more problems than I have anticipated.
1995 2500 4x4 5.9
100,000 miles
plugged cat, replaced and new muffler
new fuel pump and relay's
new coil
new plugs and wires
TPS, IAC and EGR Valve replace
Problem I am having now is it does not seem to be getting spark. I pulled the plug on the coil and turned it over can't see spark, pulled a spark plug out and laid it on the block no spark. Then all of the sudded the truck will fire up and run like a champ until it decides to die again. Have fuel delivery and the motor cranks just fine, but will not fire. On a side note after I changed the egr and other sensors last night it fired up and ran great, let it idle in the drive way for about a half hour and then it started running rough and cut out, now it wont start ..seems spark related..
Please give me ideas for the next route to take..I am about to take it to the mechanic, but would rather fix it myself

Picking up the crank and cam sensor's this evening..Where exactly is the crank position sensor located? The manual is not showing it and I am finding mixed locations in my search, have heard passenger side of bellhousing, have heard to remove the left tire and inner fender and have also heard it was located on top of block behind right cylinder?

Thanks for all the input guys, much appreciated. I changed the cam sensor(coil pick up) and Crankshaft sensor this evening. Let me just say what a pleasure it was. I started with the camshaft or coil pick up sensor and thought, gosh what a joke to have this buried back under the fire wall, well that went fairly easy took about 15 minutes to swap out and put a new cap and rotor on it.
Then I thought hey I should go ahead and bust out the crank sensor it's not to late....F that sensor in the A, 2 hours of fighting slamming and cussing the two freaking bolts holding it in place were finally out. I took the advice to remove the heat shield about an hour into it, then said what the hell, I am going to drop the exhaust. I will admit it did give me some room to tackle one of the bolts on the way out but did not help at all on the way in, in my opinion removing the exhaust is a waste of time.
The engine fired right away once I finished putting everything back together, that was a relief to say the least. Found the old crank sensor had freyed wires, so I feel confident it was the source of my lack of spark. I also found a few stray wires on the o2 sensor attached to the cat. I just had the exhaust redone; however I did not replace the sensor. Not planning on driving it tomorrow until I get the sensor swapped out and go back over everything to make sure it is buttoned up.
In the 3 weeks that I have owned this truck, I have tested my mechanic ability to it's limit..or only time will tell.
I am hoping that all this neglect and abuse from the previous owner is fixed at this point. I need to sell my Jeep so I can get started on the good stuff, lift, tires and axles.
