The search function doesn't work anymore, cause when you search all you find are threads with people telling the OP to search. And you can't actually respond to them without some ******* making a comment about bringing up an old thread. So you cannot make a new thread or reply to the old thread. In the amount of time it took to say "Here's an idea, you should use the search function" you could have typed...

"Most of us use 5w-30"

That's explore this a bit further...

How hot does it get in the summer?
How cold does it get in the winter?

Winters here get to around 1-5 F
Summers here are known to get to over 100F
I run Rotella 15W-40. Only because I buy it by the 55 gallon drum for our other trucks, and equipment.

Why do you think that you need to start using engine restore?

Yes, it is popular among the diesel community, that is why I buy it in 55 gallon drums. It's cheaper that way. I have ran it on 4,000 mile changes for the last 40,000 miles. Not a cold starting issue one. Sure it might rob me of some power, but you can't beat the cost.
