Default Replaced blowout with BFG. same size, but taller will this cause damage??

I had one federal couragia 285/75 16 mud tire blow the sidewall out, so I got a TreadWright BFG mud/ all terrain 285/75/16 to replace I. The BFG measures about an inch and a half to two inches taller than the rest of the tires. I have the BFG on the rear right passengers side.

Will this small difference in height cause any damage to the axle or drive train?

Thanks

I assume your are 2wd. It not smart, but it won't hurt. I would be more concerned with running a retread than slight difference right to left.

If you have a limited slip it will wear out prematurely. Both tires on a limited slip axle need to be at or very near the same diameter or the axle shafts will turn at different speeds and fool the differential into thinking one wheel is slipping. This will wear the clutch pack out over time.

Look on the deferential, I believe there is a metal tag bolted on one of the bottom bolts that tells you if it's a limited slip.
