Cool ABS light, brake light and speedo problem.

Have a 99 extended cab Ram 1500 and the ABS light is on, the brake light is on and the speedo will only register speed above 40 mph. It has a new tranny. Was wondering what causes this! Any ideas? Could the rear differential sensor can cause this problem?

Replace the sensor on the rear diff.

Ditto TO what Zman said.

On the top of the rear diff you will see the rear speed sensor (mine had a bracket wiht brake lines held on by the same screw), its like a 20 dollar part at the local stealership and takes 5 min to replace.

Do all 1500's have that rear speed sensor or only the 4x4's?

Dude, I only asked the question because it was part of the thread. There is no need to dump on me for that. It would be silly to do a search for something that is already being discussed.

It was meant for the person who started the thread. no need to feel personally attacked. Newbie's alway want the answer now and are to lazy to do the search themselves.
