Default Here is an off the wall question.

I have an odd one for you all.

On Saturday night, a whole group of us went gambling and I got rather incapacitated, but anyways, I drove the truck down there, and a friend drove it back with me in the passenger seat.
It is really regular, but the time between taps doesn't change with the speed.
I really thought I was just imagining this, but this morning had a friend drive it with me in the passenger side just to make sure... It's still there
I never ride as a passenger in my truck. It just doesn't happen. On the drive back, I kept feeling this tick in the floor board. I guess the only way to describe it would be like having someone under the truck tapping the floor with you sitting in the cab. Now, I am not the first owner of the truck, but it has been in my family since it was bought new. I called my Grandmother today and asked her about it, since she used to ride in it all the time. She told me that my Grandfather had taken the truck to several shops and couldn't find the problem.
I know the front end is all okay, joints, and other steering components are in good shape.

Has anyone else felt this before? I am really stumped.

Weird, mine does the same thing. Only on the passenger side. I had a friend ask me "whats the tapping noise down there", i could never figure it out!!! And so i rode on the passenger side, and wow you can really feel it through your feet! Crazy, hope we figure it out!

It's probably the evap sylinoid under your drivers side. Theres a round and square box, listen to see if it's coming from there.

So your saying the tap is coming from the driver's side, and I am only feeling it on the passenger's side floor board?

Check and make sure the top shock mounts are tight. That was the problem on mine.

Mine was on the driver's side, but yep, same as RamSport97. Turned out to be the front shock was a little loose. Tightened the nuts and that fixed it.

Sorry, i meant passenger side. I can barely feel mine but with the windows down it's very noticeable. Probably a whole different issue than yours.

Both of my bottoms were torqued down to 102 foot pounds, mine was the top shock mount. The bolt just backed off a little. Put some red loctite on it, haven't had a problem since.
