Default 95 Ram needs more power

Hi, this is my first post to the fourm. I have a 95 dodge ram 1500 short bed reg. cab with a 5.2 v8 and flowmaster exhaust.

I wanted to know if, a TB, Headers, cold air intake and underdrive pulley, will give me more power without having to switch to 91+

octane.

I'm a college student and money is tight. Also what company do you recommend for a shift kit?

I know it's alot to ask ,but you can't get answers if you don't ask questions.

thanks,

karkrazy

yes, but if money is tight, Headers? not cheep ~=$350, TB = $220 (fastman), and exhaust (is cheep) as low as a muffler $50 and up... a kit will run $180 and up.

Thanks, I didn't want to run 91 octane if i didn't have to. The price is $2.20 dollars a gallon here. I already have the exhaust and wanted

more stuff. I can save up for the parts pretty quick. Any others you would reccommend?

thanks

these are also good for a little, probably wont notice it though... NGK ZR5F-11 plugs , IAT relocate (into cold air intake tube) and an MSD 8228? (? on P/n) coil. underdrive pulleys

another trick to prevent losing any more HP is to insulate the fuel rails to prevent any heat soak on it.

Only reason you'd have to switch to 91 is if you muck with the timing (including aftermarket ECU) or add forced induction.

Are you running 91 octane with your roller rockers and do headers actually work? I heard they are good for 15 horsepower.

they (1.7's) are considered one of the best bolt on mods there are (cheep ones anyway)

Steve, have you installed those 1.7 rockers yet?
How much HP are they supposed to be worth?
The cheapest place I can find 'em is @ Summit Racing $459

No, not yet, too many projects in front of it up till now... it is climbing on the priority list. Right after the taxes... they are supposed to be good for up to 15 hp. everyone who has installed them says they are one of the best mods they've done.

Steve, have you heard any reports on the Fuel Economy after the rocker change? Also, i posted a question to which no one has replied. Do you know of any type of ignition upgrade, coil, wires, etc. that will help?
