yeah when a set of spring compressors slip its not fun. was redoing the front end of my volvo S70 T5 and a set slipped on me and my dad, one compressor nailed him on the inner knee/thigh and i just happened to have my hands in between my face and the spring and it nailed a finger, split the meat down the the bone at the fingertip/nailtip. spring flew over my head, then my car leaving it unscratched fortunately.

im def considering a leveling kit even though im "only" a 2wd. when i do my brakes/ repack bearings/ new ball joints... ill toss those in.

well jack up the truck to get the two front wheels off the gound put jack stands under the frame

take off the wheel.... lose upper ball joint castle nut but dont take in all the way,, if the boot on the BJ is shot just use a fork, if it stil good take a sledge hammer and hit the top of the spinlde,,, then take a jack up the lower c-arm and then take of the castle nut of the upper bj and the shock bolt( bottom) or top... then slowly let the jack down

if you want you can chain the spring to the frame so it will can go very far but didn't and it didn't move

You are right, but I replied to wjxavier's question, and he has a 4x4.

And btw, dodgeram07, nice run through with the pics and all.
