Default Hub Bearing Bolts

I'm in the process of replacing my front axle ujoints, i'm at the point where i need to remove my hub bearing. I am trying to do the trick were you replace the hub bearing bolts from the back and hit them loose to break from the yoke. Just went to home depot and couldn't find matching bolts, they were either to small or to big. Do I need to go to the dealership for screws?

Many thanks in advance.

they are 14mm heads, so that probably 10mm threads or something like that.
go to an Ace hardware or similar place where they have a good selection of metric BOLTS. (not screws)

Thanks Dhvaughn. Went this morning! found my bolts but only 2. 2 should be good enough. Never been to ACE hardware, very nice bolt/screw selection.

be sure you thread them in deep enough to have bolt threads in contact with all hole threads from end to end. it doesn't really matter how far they stick out, as long as its at least 1/4" or more.

Ace is the place... lol
fyi they have a lot of hard to find hardware, incl std/metric, stainless, e-clips, cotter pins, etc, etc

shoot, should've picked up my cotter pin for my axle nut. or you think i should just buy a new axle nut?

yes, I was in dream land when i entered the bolt/screw section (ailse 6). Will never go to Home depot for bolts and screws ever again. But my CJ-7 has all homedepot screws/bolts (grade 8 of course).
(LOL). Just one problem ACE hardware is about 20 minutes away.

you're supposed to use a new axle nut, but i did not. they're dealer only and pretty expensive. mine haven't fell off yet. you can reuse the cotter pin, just straighten it with pliers or vice.

You can even find some fancy chrome "dress up" nuts and bolts there if you want to get fancy. Just don't use them for anything that requires heavy torque as they gall kind of easily.

i didn't replace mine either, the guy at the dealer looked at me like he was retarded or something when i told him i needed the axle hub nut. i guess it'll be alright. when i pulled mine out i grabbed the hub and the axle together and pulled them both out, then they came apart in my hands and i was like "oh yeah, shoulda broke the hub loose first". hopefully the axle seal is ok.
