Default limited-slip differentials Additive Friction Modifier

Anyone use any of this stuff? Someone just told me to put it in to see if the humming goes away in both differentials

If you have a LSD you must use it or it will break down eventually. It won't do anything for a standard open differential.

My build sheet:
Corporate 9.25 LD Rear Axle
Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle

Does this type of axle require the additive?

thanks

Yes, it does require anti slip additive.

You can buy the stuff at most auto parts stores in 5-8oz bottles. My Dana 70 takes 8oz. If your diff has been running too long without the additive it may already be toast. I had my Jeep axle drained/refilled at a shop and they forgot to put in the additive. My diff was toast in less than 5k miles. I sued them and got them to pay for the damage. If yours is already making noise it is probably too late. Have a mechanic drop the cover and take a look inside.

Cool +1 On the Lucas Oil

If you use straight Lucas oil say 75-90 you do not have to use any additive it is already in the Lucas oil!! Maybe a little simpler!

some gear oils already have a LSD additive in it. You have to read the labels to be sure.
