just got a stock 2001 ram 1500. its got a v6 and is 2 wheel drive. i was wondering if anyone knew the maximum tire size to put on my stock 16 in rims and not have any problems. can't find an answer anywhere.
+1 For Dodge. The 3.9 is really pretty anemic. Factory was 225/45, upsize is 245/45. You might be able to go bigger, but the drivetrain is going to be taxed alot. expect to use more gas,run higher temps, and lose any "performance" you had if any.
265/70R16 should be the max you can fit. Someone on the forum has a 2wd with this setup with no problem. I have a 2001 4WD with these size tires and still room for upgrades.
thanks guys. i think i will go with the 245's. you are right about that v6, really pitiful. hopefully after i get that intake leak fixed it will get some power back.
