Default Acceleration Problems

I have a 99 dodge ram with the 5.9 single cab 4x2. I have a 6.5 suspensio lift 3 inch body lift and 1 inch level kit with 35's. It had set for 2 days and recentley i will sit at a stop light and when i accelerate its sooo slow its like it wont go i have it floored and then after 1st it will take off like its supposed to. whats wrong with it. and when i drive for like 20 mins or more my O/D Off light comes on and then if i continue driving the trans temp light comes on. I have replaced the filter. What could be a cause for this any little bit of info will help.I also juss put a new cat on also. PLEASE HELP GUYS !! THANKS

well im not sure of the problem but part of it is your setup. why do you have this truck set up like this? has it been set up like this for awhile? and drove ok? 35's and 9.5 inches of lift seem unnecessary on a 2wd truck with im assuming stock gearing. this setup is going to majorly stress everything on ur truck. your trans will not take that abuse for long...at all

no it has 4:11's and B&M Stage 2 shift kit. I thinks its stuck in 2nd or 3rd and yes i have had it set up like this for a log time i had 38s on it. I believe it could be the governor pressure sensor and/or governer pressure transducer thats an easy fix. Could it be this

He did post on here asking for your opinion about his truck.

Did you check your fluid level? they can be tricky to read somtimes. also check your cat. might be starting to plug up.

o it has a brad new cat juss put on yesterday. it starts off real sluggish like it might be in 2nd or 3rd gear n then when i get up past 1st gear then it runs like a scalded dog. It was rebuilt maybe about 8 to 12 moths ago.i hope its the governor pressure sensor and/or governer pressure transducer.

no its not slipping i know that for a fact ... if it was slipping it would rev and what not it shifts juss fine it does it when i drive it for like 20 mins. there are plenty of threds talkin about the governor pressure sensor and/or governer pressure transducer going out and it starting off sluggish and it went away when they replaced them.

Is it just want u take off? If so I had been talking to monteC he said my forward clutch is going out. Also could be a clogged up cat. Take out the upstream o2 drive around and see if tht makes it better. Could be a map sensor as well.

a good transmission shop will do free diagnostics. when they do they can hook up a scanner and take it on a short trip and read the governor pressure selenoid. if the selenoid is gummed up it will have low pressure.

when i first got my truck (on the way home) the torque converter went out on it. when it goes out it will over heat the transmission and when the tranny overheats it will kick out of overdrive and won't re-engage until it cools down.

i say get diagnostics done if you can find a tranny shop that does them for free and that will tell you if its the governor selenoid. now would probably be a good time to check out an aftermarket transmission cooler. and you "might" have a failing torque converter, i'm not a trans tech so don't hold me to it.
