New (to me) Truck
Hi Guys, I am a new Dodge Truck owner. I just bought a 2002 Ram 2500 4X4 SLT Plus V10. I've been looking for a heavy duty truck for 2 months before deciding on this one. I bought it from a kid who wanted to do some serious off-roading. He installed a lift, 35's, rancho shocks on front, and air bags with a compressor and tank in the back. I know less than zero about these things, this is my 1st 4X4. There are front and back air lockers as well, I guess they run off the compressor.
I bought this truck to tow a travel trailer. Do I need to get rid of all of the off-roading gear to use this truck as a tow vehicle? The truck looks good, runs good, but has a lot of TLC type issues I am attending to one at a time. I will upload pics as soon as I figure out how.
Thanks

the air bags are to keep the rear end from sagging when towing as long as you air them up when you have the trailer hooked up. with a big enough drop on the hitch you'd be fine towing with it. i'd bet that with that much money in the lockers that the previous owner re-geared it correctly for the bigger tires so power shouldn't be a problem either.
to upload pictures you need to get an account on a picture sharing web site like photo bucket or flickr and put them on it then get the pictures url and paste it in the window that opens when you click the mountain icon at the top of the window you type in when you are doing a reply.

Yeah, air lockers are no good for a tow vehicle, might as well just remove both axles and trade with me
Nah, they will be fine. Thats the joy of air lockers... when they are not engaged, they are open diffs... perfect for towing.
Welcome to the site, and enjoy!
