Default transgo shift kits are awesome and jasper transmissions suck ***

well a couple of weeks ago i decided to go ahead and get my transgo shift kit installed on my 46re transmission in my truck even though it voided the warranty that jasper gave me. i only had 10,000 miles to go before the warranty is up with anyways. i chickened out doing the thing myself when i was pulling the valve body out and ended up taking it to a well known transmission mechanic that a buddy of mine knew. well the mechanic pulled out the valvebody. aparently it was from a 99 46re, something jasper did. by doing so the programing was different according to the mechanic. then secondly, there was a wire harness that attatches to the valve body that had silocone on the end (a very excessive amount at that). the plastic grooves on the end of the wire harness were worn i came to find out. all the silocone was on to prevent the harness from coming off!!! and another thing worth noting, the valve body separator plate was well worn in two places were two ***** seat. so worn that you could tell that somebody tried to beat them flat instead of replacing the plate. what a ****ty transmission. well that was enough to never endorse jasper again. all in all, i replaced the wire harness and put a new solenoid in for good measure along with the new shift kit. and let me say, that new shift kit is awesome!!! it feels like i have a 1500 rpm stall converter and all the shifts are firm. one of the best investments made!!! oh, and NEVER BUY A JASPER TRANSMISSION!!!

so does this upgrade help prolong the life of the transmission? mines got 224k miles on it and it's never had problems. I just want to keep it that way.

It give u a faster shift fermer. The longer it takes to get into the next gear use more clutch. It just puts it into the next gear faster.

if you've got 224K, just leave it be, modding on a tranny that old is bound to cause problems.

Hey, if you've gotten 224K out of a 46re you're well ahead of the curve and kuddos! I say, don't tempt fate.

Default 6 speed

Hey guy's I have a 2008 3500, it has the 6 speed auto behind the cummins. I am looking for a shift kit for it to help prevent all the slippage it has while lugging around in the mud and snow. Does anyone know where I could find one or who might make one?
