It could be a problem with the 98's or it could be something about careless owners. That problem may have to do with either snow and road salt getting in there in snow areas, and in non snow areas people not opening the doors often enough and cleaning them. I'll bet a lot of people don't even bother to open doors and dry their door frames when they wash their trucks. I do, and that's how you keep your door frame paint in perfect condition, your moldings from getting eaten up, and how you keep doors from rusting shut.

Most 98s dont have the mpg option on the overhead computer that is the year they switched the interior from the old boxy one to the rounded on you see on the 2000 and above rams. I have a 98, my dad has an 01 and my buddy has another 98. My buddys truck has the boxy interior which is weird because its the same as mine. my dad has the round interior and my truck seems to have a mix of both. It looks like the 01 but a few things like the passenger airbag switch and the power outlet and overhead console are all different and in different locations.

also try messing around with both handles. on my dad 01 ram the outside handle wont work but if you mess with the inside handle a little bit you can get the door open.

I've got the same problem on the drivers side back door. Has anyone tried to remove the door skin with the door stuck closed?

Might have to pull the seat out of the way, so you have more room to work....

Not sure if you can just pull the handle, and get at the rods that way.... My truck doesn't have the rear doors, so, mine are permanently stuck closed.
