Get a new cat and superchips and call it a day with yr truck. Look on ebay for cheap flow master exhaust.

Don't let the others tell you that you can't make a beast out of the v6. It just take some major cash.

My idea got thrown out the window when you mentioned that you really don't want to dig into the motor, but I will post it anyways.
If I were you, I would completly rebuild the motor with forged internals, and then look into forced induction.

i think a turbo v6 would be pretty neat. the problem would be tuning. ive done a custom turbo setup before on a mustang but had all the computer tuning done by a shop and it was way too expensive to do again. maybe a kit? doubt it.

I would think tuning the system we have should be quite simple to tune. These computer modules (at least mine) really doesn't complain or demand much. I know on my old Honda and my new Mustang the computers require a lot of babying. I have taken the battery off my RAM and put in a new one and it runs fine right from the first start up. I would disconnect the battery on the Honda and it would run like crap until it relearned itself. Mustang is the same way. It has an entire learning curve they tell you to follow.
