ok here we go
I have to redo my left tie rod ends as well as my pitman arm end. I decided that I'll just do everything all at once, so I bought the parts and am looking at the truck trying to figure out a procedure to do it. I cant get the truck in for a wheel alignment right away because the shop is crazy busy. I need to know if anyone has tackled this project before? what should I watch out for? and how much did it effect your steering after the fact? All the work is being done on a 01 ram 2500. any help would be appreciated

changing the tie rod is easy, about a 5-10 minute job after you get the wheel off. then you can do a driveway alignment, the diy section has instructions on how to do it.

one thing you can do to keep your alignment close to what it is before the swap is to measure the original from the sleeve to the end of the tie rod end and put the new one in the same spot. i think you can just unbolt the side of the sleeve that holds the tie rod end to get it off without threading the sleeve onto or off of the tie rod itself.

hey thanks for the info. did the work tonight. took about 2 hours and the truck seems to ride the same as it did before so i think im ok untill i get it in the shop. I actually left my wheels on while I worked. I figured I might as well use them to keep everything in line. since the truck never moved it was just a matter of lining up holes. did take lots of measurments though.
