Default cross threaded oil filter

well i think its cross threaded i mean iv tried every thing and its down to just the top of the filter letf i tried a chisel and hammer to spin the filter but no so what now
i need help bad

you got to get mean. you got to get nasty. you got to beat that sob into submission.
bigger hammer and chisel.
vise grips around the threaded plate.
saws-all or hack saw to the threaded plate.

or a big pair of channel locks or a pipe wrench

what do you mean hack saw to thread plate not the bolt its self?? just cut the filter in half?

Did you try a air chisel.I use it alot on hard to take off bolts.

haha i just sold it ina garage sale because we never used it
damn this sucks well dji went with the biger chisel and hammer method no good no for a saw what kind do you suggest
o by the way dj i havent even got to really test drive my truck since all my engine work and the spectre kit god this sucks

you could also try hammering a long punch through the filter closer to the block to get some cranking force on it without mangling it too bad. just do it off center so you don't hit the threads.

thats the thing sheriff the filters gone its just the top half no metal left just the top

A hammer drill would work also it you can set it to just hammer no spin

put a chisel on the mating edge and drive it inwards, splitting the metal plate.
be careful not to scar the mating surface of the block.
as soon as you make a little headway, pry the filter edge outwards to create more space.
