Default 9.25 2x4 vs 4x4 updated : pics of broken parts

What the differences between a 9.25 4x4 and 2x4. Is the same axle ??
I have a 95 Ram 1500 5.9 4x4 and my rear diff is gone. Could I put a 2x4 axle on my 4x4 if its the same ratio ?? (3.55)

The best offer in the scrapyard here is 500$, and I can have a complete truck, 2x4 for 850$

Thanks

Update : I found a lot of metal in the oil but here's the biggest part I found

The guy who had the truck before me said that he take the truck for two years (he was hauling small trucks and cars) with the noise in the rear diff. Whats the worst that could happend ??

I also want to know what is the small part in the red circle. There are two of them and they are very looses. I look at an exploded view of the 9 1/4 in my Haynes and didn't find theses small parts or the broken part I show few posts ago.
Sorry for the big pic but that the best way to view it.

yours seems to have the same issue mine had. my c-clip broke in the posi and pieces of it went throughout the rear end and basically ripped all my bearings into pieces.

ok, correct me if i'm wrong, but that looks like an open differential to me, and not an LSD. so there's no retainer clip thingys. the red circle is around the edge of the carrier bearing. so is that a broken bearing race that fell out ? if so, then yeah, that one's sort of shot, although, if the ring/pinion are ok, a set of bearings might fix it.

i think 2wd and 4wd are the the same. same width, height, spring loc. i don't know if there are any differences in years, other than maybe a brake cyl, shoe, or yoke?

The previous owner took the truck 2 years with this bearing sound.

You were right, the axles are the same but, the 2x4 one is LSD
