i get better idle and about .5 mpg better with the 6a and tach adapt hooked up.

so what gap you guys running for the best peroformance is it ok to just run it stock , and where does the tach hook up too the box or the coil or what ??

tach adapter plugs into the box IIRC, I'd have to go check to be sure.

I run a .045 gap and it seems to do well.

nope, just head up my butt. I still have the 2001. My wife wouldn't be caught dead in a truck. She hates mine...

so how hard is it to install and where are you hooking up the wires at and about how long did it take to install ?? thanks thats my last questions

Took about an hour.... but I'm a sparky. Take the time to use male and female crimp connectors for your wires so you can disconect with ease. The tach adapt is also very simple, the msd wire diagram is easy to read. I also used some red plastic flex wire tubing to conceal the wires and about a handfull of zip-ties

Last, double check the numbers against the ones listed on MSD's website. Or even better give them a quick call their tech support is really good. Just to throw another $.02 in, mounting location should not be overlooked. We use MSD boxes in the race cars. They are durable but not bulletproof, Take time to consider where and how its gonna be mounted. Use the rubber insolators for the mounting bolts, vibration can be the achillies heel for them.
