Marty at KRC said he's seen splitting in the cam tunnel due to overtorquing of the intake manifold. How was HP holding the dog bones down and the lifters aligned without the spider bracket in place?

Great build! Hope you can get all that power to the wheels, did you ever get that 4 link for the rear end? Couldn't see much suspension wise in the pics you posted of your POR-15 work.

With all the new stuff in that thing you should take it out and break it in before racing, I hear Montana doesn't have speed limits on their highways.

You have got to be kidding me! I haven't heard of ANY state having no speed limit. I would think maybe 80, but they have to make money just like all other states. The limits on highways aren't there for safety really, it's mostly a money maker. Some of these interstates that are so long and straight really get aggravating when you have to stick to a freaking low speed limit. In Cali they wont let you go beyond 70, how slow is that. I have heard the original design of the interstate highways was for speeds of 85.

in the 90's when they lifted the national speed limit of 55mph and allowed states to decide, Montana had several stretches rural roads with no defined speed limit. "reasonable and prudent for conditions" was the limit.

A patrol officer pulled over a Camaro for going 90 mph but couldn't give a well defined reason was to why the driver was in the wrong and the case went to the Montana Supreme court. The driver won the case and the ticket was repealed, but it led the State legislature to enact a speed limit of 75 mph.

Parts of West Texas in the middle of nowhere have a speed limit of 80mph, but that's the fastest I've seen. And believe me, you do not want to be breaking down in those places.

I guess if you listen really close you can hear banjos and chainsaws in the background around those areas?

I've driven the 10 through west Texas many, many times since 1979 (before the 10 was completed) and it is a desolate, unforgiving stretch of roadway. Pretty much from El Paso to Houston is miles and miles of nothingness (except for San Antonio). Even did it in August one time in my Ramcharger pulling a trailer and it was brutal. The contrast between west and east Texas is night and day. And it takes a day and a half minimum of driving to traverse all of Texas.

No, its Texas. All you hear is George Bush's great speaking.

how about gas mileage numbers on that thing? and how many sets of tires do you plan on going through now? If i had that thing a set of tires would last a week if that. And how are you going to break it in?

Going to do a partial breakin on a Mustangdyno while tuning. Putting various loads on it. Bit of cruising north of the city afterward. Figure Ill need about 500miles on everything before even thinking about going to the track.

No 4link here, wanted one as well as bags but ran out of cash.

HP told me to not worry about torqueing the intake, just go by feel. I torqued it to spec anyways. That could of very well been another contributing factor to him splitting the block.

Gas mileage, lol, who knows, probably be around 10, maybe 12mpg cruising Id guess with the odd 3-5mpg on the 1/4m. Didn have mileage in mind when it came to this build

Yeah if you get there faster, you used less gas right?
