My 1997 Ram 1500 has a sunroof. The previous owner had installed it, it's aftermarket.

I know of 1 other 2nd Gen Ram with a sunroof.

Probably aftermarket then. Some folks that install them actually have a clue, and can do an extremely good job, making it look like it was indeed factory installed.

May have been a dealer option to, for that matter, in which case, it wouldn't show up on the option list.

Get a build sheet for your truck, it will tell you if it came with one. You can get one here, Click on "equipment listing" in the left column, then enter your VIN in the next window, and it will tell you EVERYTHING your truck came with.

I wish the body on my truck were in that good of shape. I am going to guess that you DON'T live in the Rust Belt.

My 98 did just over 3yrs in MI & PA before moving to FL.
I’ve just noticed the first rust in the bottom of the pax door.
I guess the rustproofing I had applied the week after I picked it up paid off.

Mine was zeibarted when new..... It doesn't appear to have helped much. Rot in all the usual places, and a few spots on the frame that have me concerned as well. Even my 96, which wasn't rustproofed, the frame was in better condition than the 98, that was.....
