my butt is draging
Well the title is a littl misleading but the fact is I have noticed in the past few months that my 2001 Ram 2500 is starting to level out. In the past my truck had a nice stance to it. I am guessing the bed sat about 2-3 inches higher than the nose. I use my truck, and I use it hard, I tow a boat, I plow, and I almost always have tools or other junk in the bed. I want to get it back in the air so when I tow the boat it doesnt sag. It has 120K miles on it. So what do you think do I need shocks or leafs or something else. The shocks look stock, rusty and old but no sure. If I do the shocks should I do all four corners? I have been doing a lot of fixing on this truck lately but I need it to last. I want to put over 200K on this truck before I buy something else. Let me know your opinions.
i would say the shocks would be what you need seeing as that is what brings your truck back up to original height after you disconnect your load, they are probably worn out from over time, and what you do with your truck... as far as replacement i would just do them all at once, get them all out of the way just incase the front decides to lower itself somehow
If they are/were for your 1500, I don't think they will work on a 2500. Different width I do believe. How much you want for them though? Just the AAL or do you have u bolts and whatever too?
I would personally go with a air bag system because they wont affect your current ride and will increase your hauling capacity by as much as 5,000lbs.
Oh. Yea I've got just the add-a-leafs. We trimmed the u-bolts when we pulled em off lol. The previous owner threw away the old ones when he installed. Just make me an offer. I think flat rate shipping is $10. They're just sitting outside rusting.

If you really believe this you need a refresher course in automotive engineering. With the exception of air shocks and some load leveling shocks, the average shock absorbers have no influence on ride height. The drop in height is due to spring sag. Worn out shocks will affect ride quality, not ride height.
With that many miles on your truck, I'm willing to bet the rear springs are sagging. You can tell just by looking at them. They should be relatively curved like the letter "U"..if they look mainly flat theyre getting old....looking to do mine soon too actually.
