okay and pour this new oil into the drain plug till it is at the bottom of the plug line? (mine has a drain plug) This is my job for tomorrow.

If the plug is midway up on the diff cover, it is only a fill plug and you will still need to remove the cover to drain the old fluid. Then fiil through the fill hole until the fluid is level with the bottom of the fill hole.

also, do not forget the friction modifyer. It should come in a 7 or 8 ouce tube.

okay when i pull this apart and hopefully i dont but if i do see metal flakes its time for new gears?

A little bit of metal paricles in the fluid is normal, but if it seems excessive, then I would say that the differential needs help.
