I changed the servo, switch and checked for vacuum leaks.There are none that I can detect. I'm getting 25 inches of Mercury, on my vacuum pump;which should be plenty. I checked various points in the vacuum lines, resovaur and the servo itself for leaks. All seems to be good.(to the best of my knowledge)

What happens is when I try to set the cc, It seems to engage, the pedal pulls down but speed is not maintained. Any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks.

 

Try replacing the brake light switch .

 

What does that have to do with my problem? The brake lights come on and the cruise control does reset; when I hit the brakes.

 

How do you think the CC knows to shut off when you touch the brake pedal.

 

Good point. But like I said, the cruise does reset when I hit the brakes. However, since switches are cheap ,I'll give it a try.

I would say maybe the clock spring. I heard it mentioned before that it effects the cc and if it works or not. probably not the problem just a guess.

 

I changed the stop lamp switch and there is no improvement.

 

The cc throttle cable seems a little loose; at the throttle body. Are stretching cables a common cc problem?
