What are the torque specs for the trans pan on a 99 Ram? I saw the DIY and it said 25ft lbs. I think I just broke a bolt doing 25ft lbs

Any idea how to get the broken bolt out or how much a shop would charge to do that?

To Install:
  1. Install or connect the following:

    • Screws to hold filter to valve body
      1. Torque to: 35 inch lbs. (4 Nm)
    • New gasket in position on pan and install pan on transmission
    • Screws to hold pan to transmission
      1. Torque to: 150 inch lbs. (17 Nm)
    • Lower vehicle and fill transmission with Mopar ATF Plus 3, type 7176 fluid.

150 inch lbs is 12.5 ft lbs...

So around 13 would be correct. 25 FT LBS is crazy on a pan!

THINK POSITIVE!!

the pan is still OFF...hopefully the bolt has not bottomed this will have the threaded portion "loose" .... and pliers can get a bite on it OR using a pick rotate it out...

good luck

couldn't get the bolt out. I drove it around the block and let it idle for about 30 mins and it isn't leaking yet. I will keep an eye on it until I can take it a shop.

do you have the chrysler gasket thats plastic with rubber on both sides? if you do then it'll probably hold the fluid fine until you get that bolt out.
