Did Dodge fix this in 2000?

hell no. they just kept pumping out the same ****ty gaskets for the same ****ty steel belly pan. if yours has never been replaced with a hughes plate or maybe the felpro gasket, it leaking.

edit... i came back to rant some more.
this TSB identifies the source of the oil leak, vac leak, and pinging problem. but, rather than change the belly pan or the gasket, or do any kind of recall, dodge's solution was to introduce the death flash to the pcm, and retard the timing to mask the pinging. this was probably about a million dollars cheaper and they never had to admit the engineering screw up. bastards.

yeah its the biggest flaw, if they would have made more of something the manifold for more milage and perfomance dodge would have kicked it larger than chevy and ford with the 5.9 instead of the 5.3 and the 5.4

Ok, Ive got an '01 Ram, 5.2 L 66,000 original miles. I dont think that its ever been replaced. What are tell tell signs that it could be bad? Im running Mobil 1 Full Synthetic. IDK if that helps or not.

Oh the TB is clean, both sections. It was last I checked lol

if you have the throttle body off you could clean it with throttle body cleaner and wipe it down real good

Ok all done thanks guys, there was a tiny bit of "sludge" looking stuff down there, but no puddles, Like if you rocked the truck side to side it woundnt move. So, I think I am ok there. The top of the TB was clean, ( I recently cleaned it) but the bottom was nasty. I did clean that, and I have recently cleaned the IAC. So im doing great! :-D thanks again!
