Default New shocks needed when leveling 2wd?

I'm thinking about leveling my 2wd truck with 2" cast aluminum coil spacers. I currently have the HD Bilstein shocks. Can I use my current shocks or do I have to buy new shocks to accomodate the extra 2" and if so, does anybody have any good recommendations? Thanks for your help.

A search will reveal at least a half dozen threads asking the exact same thing.

you can,, but the ride may not be the best(maxing out the shocks)

maybe this would work if you didn't like the ride

I installed a 1.5" polyurethane spacer using my stock shocks and didn't notice much of a difference in ride quality. An extra half inch doesn't seem like it'd be overkill...

I too installed a daystar polyurethane 1.5" spacer on my '96 2WD, while I installed bilstein shocks. However I did notice a harsher ride.

I don't know if its the poly leveler or the bilsteins?

Coil spring spacers do not change ride characteristics.

Thanks guys for your help and responses. I really appreciate it. I think I will be getting the Pro Comp ES 9000 shocks to accommodate the extra two inches just to be safe.

dodgeram07- Thanks for web site and compliment. I like the way my truck drives now. I wanted more torque to help pull my travel trailer and the mods were bought for that purpose. I'm very happy and the truck pulls the travel trailer flawlessly on level highways and does an amazing job pulling over some decent grades and over mountain passes. Thanks once again.
