Default An Axe prevented a fire

I rarely drive my truck so it isn't uncommon for it to sit a week or more between trips. I loaded it up with some brush for a trip to the landfill. Silly me left the axe leaning up against the bumper. I didn't realize it until I ran it over. No big deal, I jump out to pick it up and see liquid pouring out of the truck. About the same time I am hit with the odor of gasoline. I jump in and shut it down. Open the hood and see a steam from gas vapor coming off the exhaust manifold. I grab the hose and quickly wash it down. Started looking around for the source. I initially thought it was the where the fuel line connects to the rail. Tugged at it a few times and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Turned the key on again for a few seconds to see if I could find it and saw gas pouring out of the fuel rail connecting hose. The rubber hose that connects the two rails. It had about a half inch gash it. I remember thinking I should replace it when I pulled it off to do the plenum, but I have never seen one of them blow out. What amazed me with all that gas pouring out that the truck still ran just fine.

Now my quest is to try to find one. The dealer of course wants $112 for it.

too many liberals with their 'green' ideas think that burning is bad. They think it is better to have it shreded and put into a big pile that will catch fire on its own.

I couldn't agree with you more, but unfortunately in most places (cities) you'll get arrested if you try that. In SoCal you would be arrested, fined, sent to pick up trash on the freeways, put on probation, and probably anger management classes when you tell them that they are all a bunch of pecker necks.
