Default 98 Ram Cruise Control Quit...

I have a 1998 Dodge ram 3500 diesel 4x4. A few months ago the cruise control quit. I changed both controls on the steering wheel. The light does not come on the dash and the cruise does not engage. What should I check next?? I am putting on 1000 miles a week so it would be nice to fix Thanks!

Check all vacuum lines and check valves running from the intake to the cruise control module (usually under the driver's side battery).
Check fuses. Check wiring at the cruise module.

There is no fuse. (there is no spoon......)

CC switch draws power directly from the PCM. If the lite doesn't come on, check continuity of the switchs. Might be a bad clockspring.

^^Thanks! Also I just read that there is no cruise light on the 95 model. Is there a light on the 94 model? I have no light at all.

If the 95 didn't have one, it's a pretty good bet that the 94 didn't either. My 96 does though, right on the steering wheel, on the button that isn't really a button.

The early models may have worked differently as well... Haven't looked at the older service manual though..

For the older trucks, it is fuse 10. A 2 amp fuse in the fuse block on the side of the dash.
