One thing that i hate the most is wiring....ok so i was drivin home from humbolt county and i was listen to my stereo it is a pioneer deck... i went to adjust my side mirror and the second i hit the lever to adjust it, my stereo lost all power the mirror wont work and even after that my dam dome light wont turn on. So i did the usual i checked the fuses inside the cab and those are ok... then what confused the hell out of me is that my CB (Which i hooked to the back wires of my stereo) still had power. So i ripped the deck out and there are two wires a constant (yellow wire) and a the other which gives power when i turn the ignition on (red) the rest are speaker wires... now the yellow which is constant has no power at all and when i turn the ignition the yellow still has no power but the red does... anybody have any ideas? i went to check the fuses in the engine bay and well i have no fuse box cover for it so i dont now what fuse is for what but none are blown... its nice to listen to the sounds of the 5.9 but i love my music

the constant power is to provide power on the presets and the clock. i don't know which fuse that comes from, but its likely something other than radio, maybe IOD (ignition off draw)
the one that's switched on/off via ignition is for the deck operation. its probably on a different fuse labeled radio.
i'll bet your radio fuse is blown even though it may not look like it. check it with an ohm meter.

if its not a fuse, electrical faults can be a bear to figure out
my clearance lights were not working, i kept burning the 15 amp fuse, searched for months, finally found it, it was a wire that had rubbed the inside of the body and the insulation had rubbed off, and was shorting on the body
