ok, i believe i am right about the single throw relay. i believe that when not energized that the 30-87/87a posts are disconnected and the lever is just out in the open inside the relay, then when you energize the relay, it connects the 30 and 87/87a posts.

the double throw relay puts power to either 87 or 87a all the time.

so am i just reading the rangerstation site wrong? maybe i'm dyslexic, i dunno.

Thanks,
i used one side of the spare fuse slot in the fuse panel on the dash for my reverse lights.
my dads 98 doesn't have a spare slot, so i tapped the seat belt fuse for his fog lights with one of these

I just checked my rollbar lights relay and it has two 87 pins(not 87A), is this the same as an 87 and 87A? I have 1 light plugged into each 87 pin and they both come on

And I stole power from the fuse block also for the rollbar switch

That is the type of relay i am looking for, where did you get that relay from? If it came in a wiring kit can you get a replacement?

Thanks Dave

The relay you have is NOT the same type as Sheriff420 is talking about. Yours is correct, it has two 87 posts. The one Sheriff420 is talking about has 87 and 87A. The "A" distinguishes the terminals from normally opened and normally closed.

Sheriff, I took your first post and copied it over to the FAQ for a DIY.
