Default weird theory

i was talking to my neighbor who is my machinic, i asked him about exhaust systems , and i live in pa and need to pass emmision and inspection , and i told him about needing 2 cats and wanting an x-pipe.

he said if im running duels i can pass with no muffler but do need the cats on. and he said i could have the pipes coming out on eachside before the tire as long as if its past the cab.

so what you guys think.... true duels with 2 cats 2 mufflers or 2 cats no mufflers

and

keep the pipes out the back or put them before the rear tires ??

Run mufflers, straight pipes sound like poo and nobody wants to hear it. Good mufflers sound way better than open exhaust.
For example, this car sounds way better with mufflers than this car without mufflers.

I tend to think you friend has no idea what he's talking about. I know we are in different areas of PA but pretty sure you still need mufflers

Lastrights, where did you find your Pacesetter Longtubes? All I come up with are the darn shorties. Also, isn't there something to do with shorties and smog restrictions vs. LTs?

Edit: Found them at Summit. Pacesetter quick trip longtubes- are these what you have? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PSM-70-2213/ or are these the ones you have: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PS...3/?image=large This is more what yours look like- these are not painted.

I have a quick question- did you have to do any mods to get them to fit at all?

I have another question: what is this cutout that you mention in your vids on YT? Is that like a valve with a motor to open and close the exhaust or similar? Is that fatiguing in the cab on long rides?

yes the cutout is a valve, you can get cable type, electric or manual
