A p0601 code is definately an internal Dodge ecm failure. Of all the codes the p0601 should be taken as the most serious because if you don't get a new ecm soon you'll be stranded on the side of the road one day. This happened to me but luckily I was able to find a local shop to rebuild my ecm part number 3942336 for 575.00. They are located in the Detroit area and they have a website http://www.ecmoutlet.com Hopefully this helps any of you guys with a bad cummins ecu.
